Anne Twist
Artist's Biography

Originally from the North East of England, I have lived in Leicestershire for 20 years. I studied Fine Art at Maidstone College of Art. After leaving art college I worked with a group of young people to produce a series of murals in my home town. At this time I also produced various paintings as commissions.
Since then I taught Art, Graphics and Textiles in Leicestershire schools for many years. I loved teaching these subjects and was always impressed with the confidence and talent many children have when they are being creative. I have been painting seriously again for a couple of years. In this time I have produced a range of commissions on request on a variety of themes including more figurative work.
Having decided to start exhibiting again I was pleased to have work accepted for the City Gallery Open Exhibition in Leicester and also the RBSA gallery in Birmingham. In the past I have exhibited work in various locations in the U.K. including Leicestershire and the North East and also in Rouen, France.
My paintings are in private collections both here in the U.K. and abroad.
I live with my husband and two young children who support my painting venture whole heartedly.
I paint at every given opportunity and continue to develop and extend my work.
