 Thank you for your time to visit my Mini Gallery, also you can have a look at my new paintings and find more information about me at my web site www.arinagordienko.com A brief CV: Originally from Russia, since 2005 I live in London and constantly exhibiting my works in the UK. From 2005 to 2007 I studied at the Central Saint Martins College of Art and Design and in 2008 I have completed MA in Fine Art at the Chelsea College of Art, University of the Arts London. My works are in private collections in the UK, France, Luxembourg, Russia and USA. A brief biography: During my life I went through a very long journey towards the point I am now with the opportunity to be an artist and to do what I love most in my life. I was born in the Far North of Russia, which is closer to Alaska, then to Moscow, and for the first four years of my life I have seen only endless white fields of the polar snow around me. When I was 4 years old, I have moved with my Mum to the one of the most beautiful parts of Russia that was Urals’ Mountains area. I remember very clearly the morning, when I have seen the first flowers in my life. Being a little child, after watching only white-snow space everywhere in my life before, I could not imagine how colourful the world around can be. I was almost shocked by the colours of flowers and its beauty. I still keep this amazing feeling of admiration of the nature deep inside. I remember the fear of that little girl that all this discovered beauty might has been disappeared from my life suddenly, and tomorrow I could watch the only white colour of the snow instead of the flowers once again. I felt at that moment the strongest desire to save the beauty of the world in my life forever. I think it was the moment when the Artist inside me was born. So following this experience in my life, when I started to experiment with painting, of course, the first subjects were images of flowers and leaves. I painted them on silk because I felt the surface of the silk is similar to the surface of the flowers petals, soft, silky and warm. As far back as I can remember I have been painting everywhere I could find a spare place for, for example, on the wallpapers in my room, on furniture and on the doors, on clothes and even in lesson books at school! So it is my passion from the very childhood and whatever I have been doing in my life, I knew that finally I will be a professional artist anyway.
