Carol Dunne
Artist's Biography

I qualified at Liverpool University ( BSc. Applied Biology ) and Manchester University ( Masters degree in Science, Maths and Technology). I worked as a senior teacher and manager in a primary school for 20 years but I have recently been fortunate enough to be able to take early retirement. I used painting as a hobby to save my sanity but now I have a lot more time to devote to the thing I enjoy doing best. I am now working professionally and have recently sold work in America, Spain , France, Italy and Australia.
My studio is in The People's Gallery, 2 Melbourne St, Stalybridge, Tameside, SK15 2JE . Here you will find a permanent exhibition of my work and you will be able to look around my studio to see work in progress.
I am also a founder member of a local art society, Mellor Art Society, which is based in Marple Bridge, Stockport. We have just had our 5th Annual exhibition, we received a lot of compliments about the high standard of our exhibits.
I was recently presented with the Lois Kennerly Trophy for coming first in the landscape painting competition in this years Mottram Show. I won this for the painting called Wedding Cake Hill, Positano, Italy, which you can see on this website.
I was also filmed painting in my studio by Channel M TV which was broadcast Friday 11th April.
