 Welcome to my gallery. What do you keep by your bedside? A book? A picture of loved ones? Teeth in a glass? For me, my bedside table is dominated by a sketch pad and pencils. It has to be like this because just as I am dropping off to sleep, my inspiration arrives like an exploding firework - a flash of a scene that will disappear forever unless I stay awake and sketch it instantly. I'm a self taught professional artist living in South Lancashire with my wife, two young daughters and pet labrador Mavis, so I can often feel outnumbered by the fairer sex! I have painted professionally for ten years now and feel very lucky and privileged to indulge in my favourite recreational activity for a living. Painting in acrylic on boxed canvas, my quirky contemporary landscapes have often featured all manner of wild animals, birds and cattle although some of the paintings that I have for sale here are a mixture of my more recognisable work and some new ideas, perhaps a little different from my usual creations. All of my boxed canvases have the image continuing around the sides, a process that can often add an extra day's work to the painting, but an added extra that I feel brings the work to life.
