My corkscrew, winter trees have become quite iconic within my work and much inspiration is taken here from American artist Eyvind Earle's winter landscapes. I felt the key to this painting was the sunlight streaming through the trees from the right and the pattern created by their shadows on the ground. Anyone got any nuts...?
