Artist's Biography

I have been drawing/painting as far back as I can remember. I left school with GCSE and A-level Art, both at grade B.
I am 28 and lived in the New Forest and we were lucky enough to live near the beach.
My Dad died at the end of January 07 and I find my art helped me through this as he encouraged me with my art and I was very close to him.
I have moved out of home but my artwork is based at home as I don't have anywhere to put it in my small house. I live about 20 miles away from home.
I worked for 4 years at Buckler's Hard Maritime Museum, in the Museum itself and in the Cafe.
December '04 I was diagnosed with Hodgkin's Lymphoma (cancer of the lymph glands) and had the best part of a year off work for chemotherapy and radiotherapy. I am in remission now.
Despite being ill, I carried on doing all the things that I did before, including my art work.
Although the time off was for recovery, it enabled me to paint and get my work on this website. I found that Art helped me cope with what I went through.
I currently work at Marwell Wildlife as Guest Services Assistant which can be quite useful if I want to get some photographs of animals to paint from.
