A little bit about me

I have always enjoyed art, especially painting. My Dad was an art lecturer and so he has always encouraged this.
However, I decided to study Business studies after my A' levels and my career path was mainly in the travel and tourism industry.
After having my first child in 2002, I decided that I wanted to be a stay at home Mum, and that I wanted to make a career of my talent in Art.
I joined a local art group and was encouraged to be ‘free' with my painting. This unlocked my passion and I have managed to fit in small amounts of painting between being a full time Mum of two.
I have also done the Artstart evening course at the Leeds College of Art and have enjoyed life classes at the Wakefield Art House.
I had an exhibition at a small gallery in Wakefield, where I sold a number of paintings and also received a commission.
In the past, I sold paintings at an Art Fair, but didn't pursue this as I had my second child. Now that my youngest child has started school I have the time to concentrate fully on my painting career.
I have sold quite a few paintings during the last five years and this has given me the confidence to turn my talent in to a full time business.
