Artist's Description

A pivotal painting for me, this is the second of two new paintings that came out of a visit to a local wood and are the first ones where I have developed an "inverse" paint affect to get the shading of the lighter trees.

Painted in a semi abstract non-literal style. My paintings are dark and reflect my love of thunderstorms, rain, cold winter days and walking in moonlight. I visit places and absorb the atmosphere memorise the detail and then paint later in the studio, without using sketches or photographs.
