Traditional landscape and Townscape. I have always enjoyed going out finding new scenes to sketch and paint, it gives more interest to a walk and in town looking above the glitter of tempting shop fronts reveals many gems of architectural detail.

I have always enjoyed working to commission, the client has an attatchment or fond memories of the subject and being able to produce the desired end result gives immense satisfaction, it has also taken me to places I would not otherwise have gone to and I have made many good friends over the years.

With this type of painting the object is to try and capture the movement, this can only be acheived by constant observation and filling sketch books from life, it also gives a great variation of subject matter.

Subjects close to my heart, sadly since the introduction of containers and ever increasing air travel most of the scenes I saw in my younger days at sea have disappeared and the busy docks and harbours of yesteryear are no longer there. However I am always open to produce a bit of nostalgia if requested.
