A little bit about me
I started a full-time career in the arts in the mid-80s when my wife and I returned to the UK from Canada. We settled in Cornwall which provided everything I could wish for. The landscape and the sea, never too far, supplied the inspiration and the workshops with the artists of the RBA at the Mall Galleries in London provided the techniques, the savoir-faire. I was soon exhibiting at the Mall and elsewhere. Local galleries in Cornwall started the ball rolling for sales and towards the end of the 90s my paintings could also be seen in the Greater London area, the Midlands and the South-East. Since moving to France my paintings can also be seen in Paris, Luxembourg and Hannover.
Clients now include the Royal Bank of Scotland, Bank of America, P&O Ferries. Collectors have included members of the Arsenal and Chelsea football teams, David and Victoria Beckham, the late Caron Keating.
Now formally retired as art tutor at St. Austell and Truro Colleges, I continue to run classes and workshops in Normandy where we live now, working en plein air as much as possible. The satisfaction of getting students, young and old, fired up with new ideas, new forms of expression is ... simply priceless.
