About My Art

I initially started painting 25 years ago and in 1979 I reached the finals of that years Nancy Kaminski TV competition and saw my entry exhibited in Selfridges store in London. The painting of Wicken Fen in winter still hangs in our longe and is one I am reluctant to sell.
Business stopped me devoting the time I wanted to spend on my art, however
early retirement has corrected that - I paint mainly in oils on canvas and board.
I usually work from my own photographs taken at various locations.
and I produce a limited number of digital prints ( no more than 20) of most of my paintings.
I also use some of my paintings to illustrate my Christmas cards which provides another means of showing my work to people many of whom who do not have the opportunity to visit either my website or my gallery.
Having recently started to give classes for beginners who wish to paint in oils I am finding that this has provided extra stimulation for my own work.
My special interests are landscapes, seascapes, aviation art and wildlife.
