Artist's Biography
I was born and raised in Cape Town, South Africa, and recently moved to England to work. I really love this country, and have decided to stay for much longer than the few months I intended! Growing up in a sunny and vibrant country has given me a love and appreciation for colour, and I was lucky enough to have passionate art teachers from an early age.
After school I studied graphic design for three years, and although it was a valuable experience, I yearned to paint again after dealing with endless computer screens. I did some office work and other odd jobs for a while - until I couldnt stand it any longer, and quit it all with a view to becoming a full time artist. Being an artist doesnt pay all the bills yet, so I am now working part time, and painting part time. I really enjoy having time to paint and my creativity levels have escalated!
I work from home - I recently got married to a farmer, and live in a cottage in the countryside about 10 miles out of Carlisle. My surroundings are an inspiration to me and I have starting painting farm animals! I hope to spend the next few years discovering the beautiful Cumbrian countryside.
