A little bit about me
Born an bred in Stoke on Trent I was always surrounded by ceramics and art. My family itself was not especially artistic but there was always an endless supply of paper, pencils, and pens with which to fill my time.
Throughout school Art was my standout subject. The first recognition of my early work being in the form of my first unofficial exhibition at the age of 9 when my teacher exhibited my pastel portraits of my favorite pop stars in the school hall.
Following high school I studied Fine art, Sculpture, Illustration, Graphic design and ceramics at Newcastle college before specialising in Graphic Design/Illustration when I was accepted on a HND Design Communication course in Sheffield.
After graduation I followed the obvious route of employment and became a full time Graphic Designer, keeping my painting as my own guilty pleasure.
It was not until the birth of my daughter in 2009 that I decided to try and sell some of my work and another year and a half before I built up the courage to walk into my local gallery where I experienced almost instant success by selling a major piece within days.
