Artist's Biography
Peter Gander Paintings & Prints. As a full-time professional art director I have been lucky enough to have been drawing for over 20 years on a daily basis, but painting brings a whole new set of interesting challenges, especially so with watercolours, which is a hard medium to master. Painting allows me to express myself entirely - unlike the 'day job', it's no longer about 'bespoke' designs to someone elses' dictates and deadlines. It's utter freedom. I still commute to central London to work as an art director in an advertising agency and thus have to discipline myself to spending some nights per week painting. So far this had paid off, with several local Whitstable shops now stocking my postcards, notably 'Taking the Plunge'. A regular exhibitor at Whitstable's 'Horsebridge Arts Centre' and following a successful show again this year, I am producing linocuts of local subjects too (see blog below). Happy viewing!
