Peter Tarrant
Artist's Biography

I grew up in Nottingham. Studied in Nottingham and started my career in the printing industry as a lithographic artist.
I studied at Art School as part of my training as a photo litho artist ( now replaced by technology) much of the disciplines learned and practised such as colour, hue and graphics remain and are a great help. Other than that I am self taught.
I have lived in Scotland for many years. Living at the Gateway to the Trossachs, now part of the Loch Lomond and Trossachs National Park. Mountains, Lochs, the change of light, and vast open spaces with miles of sky give me ideas and inspiration for my art.
Being not far from the coast I often spend 'photographic time' on the West Coast of Scotland, hopefully inspiring art such as the Vital Spark, Crinnan and Crinnan Harbour and the West of Scotland sunsets can be fantastic.
I have been a member of the local art club and exhibited locally.
Neither Elizabeth my wife, or my children paint but my granddaughter shows great interest and is creative, either painting or making things.
As a child I always loved to paint (Mostly Boats) and today I still enjoy the sea, the lochs and painting boats!
