A little bit about me

Artist's Biography

My self-portrait
My self-portrait
I live in picturesque Cornwall and have two beautiful daughters whom I adore. I am currently employed as a retail manager and I use my illustration as a means to unwind after a busy day at work.

Previous to my children 'coming along', I attended Falmouth School of Art and Design where I qualified for an OND in Technical Illustration. I then achieved a HND in Scientific Illustration at Southampton. During my education at these institutions I have used many different means to convey my subjects including watercolours, airbrushing and pastels amongst others. However, my preferred method of rendering artwork is using pen and ink. I feel this method enables me to encapsulate great detail whilst creating my images.

I have always had a keen interest in nature and enjoy taking my camera 'out and about' in order to expand my reference library.

I have completed several commissions and have had illustrations published in various wildlife publications. I have also designed calendars and created handcrafted greetings cards using some of the images I have produced.
