Samuel Burton
 I am Samuel Burton a 30 year old artist from West Yorkshire. I hope my Gallery reflects the love I have for painting. I love to paint seascapes and landscapes, I look for scenes to paint which I feel offer me the opportunity to express myself poetically in my painting, enabling me to give my true personal reflection of a scene. I also love paining because it offers an infinity of possibilities, I love to experiment and and try new things. I see my painting as a journey and this gallery gives me the opportunity to share this journey. I like to experiment with different mediums. At present I am concentrating on developing my knowledge off acrylics and oil. I think both these different mediums offer different thing to a landscape painting. Acrylics can create a bold an stricking landscape with vivid colours and dramatic contrasts whereas Oil can offer a landscape a more subtle sympathic impression in a landscape. I intends to develope my technique especially with oils and try some more spontanious and free style. I believe there are so many different ways you can approach a painting and I intend to develope the knowledge in the above mediums to be able t be much more flexible in my approach. I do not intend to be an artist who hits on one successful style of painting and just sticks the that. I want to experiment and painting in many different ways dependent on my mood or wimb.  |
