Artist's Description

This watercolour painting was the inspiration for a ginger jar which I designed for Moorcroft pottery Collectors Club.
Every part of the Honeysuckle is just waiting to be stylised!
The pink tubular flowers burst open at the end and curl back to reveal a delicious pale yellow inside with the stamens exploding outwards. The arrangement of the flowers, the way they sit on their green leaf skirts and the inter-twining stems all lend themselves to the Art Nouveau treatment. The seed heads would make a picture all by themselves.
I hope you can imagine a hot summers day with the unique scent of Honeysuckle when you look at this picture.
