Sarah Brummell-Bailey
Artist's Biography

I am presently working as an artist in my spare time. I work from my studio in rural North Norfolk, where the light is fantastic and the views stunning.
I trained as a Graphic Designer and although I only followed that career for three years ( got married!), I have continued to practise art as much as I can.
I have worked and exhibited widely in the batik medium. I have been a colourist of antique prints for many years and have been commissioned to do Fore-edge paintings. I have designed for Liberty and more recently Moorcroft Pottery.
Of all the mediums, I have settled on watercolour for my current work. I paint mostly floral subjects and they are stylised in the Art Nouveau style.
I have always been drawn to the turn of the century era and not only love the art of that period but the clothes, ceramics, furniture, music etc, etc.
I have never copied my style but have found it with ease from within me.
I have to accept that my full time job curtails the amount of time I spend in my studio. Hence the low volume of work in my gallery. It is frustrating to say the least.
Ideally, I would be painting full time.
There's a never ending bloom of floral subjects all year round just crying out to be stylised.
If you have a favourite flower which you want me to work my magic on....just give me a nod.
