This is a charming little painting on a box canvas which is ready to hang or can beframed.
I took the photograph which inspired this painting whilst standing at a gate looking across fields to a distant farmhouse just outside Truro near Threemilestone. It was winter. Unusually for Cornwall there had been snow. It was the end of the day; the light was fading quickly, the gathering gloom encouraged by a bank of dark clouds. The last rays of the day were filtering through the trees. There was a blue tinge to the landscape which gave everything an almost surreal quality.
The house stands out starkly against the residual white light of the sunset. It is nestled in amongst the trees and bushes, whilst in the mid ground is a patchwork of fields which could be seen over the tops of the bushes.
