Sue Townsend
Artist's Biography

I have done a 4-year fine arts course which has given me new direction and an excitement in my work. I am especially indebted to my tutor and mentor Trevor Waugh with whom I have been working and who has given me encouragement and inspiration.
I have also had the benefit of advice and expertise from Ken Hancock of Tetbury and who is also a Francophile and paints mainly scenes of Provence. Ken has recently been accepted as an Associate of the Paris Salon in France, an accolade which is envied by many.
I prefer to work in oil or watercolour although for some portraits I do enjoy using pastels.
I am very happy to take commission work using photographs and where possible "in situ".
I have exhibited locally, Bristol, London, Majorca and Malta. Many of my pictures have gone to the USA and Ireland.
All work for sale shown on Minigallery are only examples of some of the work done over the past year. I am doing series of different work - Venice, Hares, Countryside, Portraits, Beach, Provence and experimental abstracts.
Delivery is not easy to cost. I would prefer either to delivery personally, in which case I charge basic travel expenses, or collection from Tetbury can be arranged.
