Tess Germain-Stroud
My name is Tess Germain-Stroud and I have been drawing since a child, and passed some art and pottery highers in Braintree in 1962. I also did a correspondence course with Open College in 1977 when my five children were young, but could do nothing professionally as I was so busy. Much of my painting is self-taught. I was born in Essex when it was still wild. I have lived all over Britain, and ended up in Scotland in the 80s with 2 of my children, fell in love with Scotland and my husband, and have stayed, taking up painting watercolours as therapy because of a long illness and a disability, having been an acrylic and pastel painter before. I teach art locally with a group and also on a one to one basis. Many of my paintings are in private collections all over the world including the USA, Australia, Germany and Hong Kong. I have exhibited in many places including London. I am able to take commissions, I gained a highly commended award for a Tiger Cub in ‘Paint a Wildlife Subject’ in a competition in 1995. You can see other examples of my work at www.artyfects.co.uk. |
