| Hieronymus Bosch (c. 1450-1516) was a Dutch painter whose name comes from his birthplace. From 1486 Bosch belonged to the Roman Catholic Brotherhood of Our Lady. His art features half-animal half-human creatures and devils inspired by contemporary proverbs and writings. Among Bosch’s major works are ‘The Haywain’ and ‘Garden Earthly Delights.’ |
