| Jean Baptiste Camille Corot (1796-1875) was a French landscape painter. Corot visited Italy in 1825-28 and the country became the subject of many of his landscape paintings. Corot did not achieve critical acclaim until the 1850s with his poetical misty landscapes populated by nymphs. Corot also created open-air sketches, small landscapes and figure studies. |
