| Jean Honoré Fragonard (1732-1806) was a French rococo painter born in Grasse. Fragonard trained with Chardin and Boucher in Paris and studied in Italy. Fragonard established his reputation with the history painting ‘Coresus Sacrificing Himself to Save Callirhoë’ and other works include ‘The Swing’ and ‘The Progress of Love.’ |
