| Alberto Giacometti (1901-66) was a Swiss sculptor and painter who worked chiefly in Paris after 1922. He was influenced by Cubism, primitivism and later surrealism for example ‘The Palace at 4am’ which was an abstract construction of sticks, glass and wire. Giacometti went on to develop a unique and distinctive figure style featured spindly elongated forms. |
