| Frans Hals (c.1581-1666) was a Dutch painter of portraits and everyday life. Hals was born in Antwerp and worked mainly in Haarlem. One of Frans Hals most famous paintings is the ‘Laughing Cavalier’ of 1624. He is best known for his group portraits including archers and musketeers for example. |
