Peter Gander Paintings. Peter Gander trained at Barnet, Herts and Canterbury College of Art, (as it was then) in Kent, UK, where he received his Batchelor of Arts (Hons) Degree. He has worked as an art director in London for many years and has sold paintings from Dulwich to Dundee.

Peter's watercolours reveal a bold, confident and loose style, which utilise the best qualities of this tricky medium. Look out for some famous Whitstable landmarks, such as the very popular 'Wheelers Oyster Bar' and his series of humorous retro-style seaside postcard paintings, such as 'Winderful Whitstable' and 'Best wishes from Whitstabubble', which are stocked as postcards in some Whitstable shops, such as 'Taking the Plunge' in the High Street, Whitstable. Peter has also produced some limited edition prints of such well-known 'Oystertown' icons, such as his 'Whitstable Fish Market Figure' and 'Local mackerel' - see if you can spot the clever twist in the latter!
